Abstract
Introduction: The energy requirement for breathing is more for
patients with Chronic Lung Diseases. Meeting the activities of daily is
harder for them especially due to lack of energy. Breathing exercises
can strengthen the muscles of respiration, utilization of oxygen and
ease the process of respiration. Objectives: The study is conducted to
evaluate the effectiveness of a three-point breathing exercise on
selected respiratory health-related parameters of patients with
obstructive lung diseases and to find association between respiratory
health-related parameters and selected variables. Methodology: Quasiexperimental
one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted among
20 subjects who were selected by purposive sampling. Pre-test
measurement of the selected respiratory parameters was assessed on
the first day and the exercise was performed by the patients with
Obstructive Lung Diseases for three days and post-test measurements
of the respiratory parameters were conducted on the fourth day. Result: The study reports
that the three-point breathing exercise was effective in improving the respiratory healthrelated
parameters such as respiratory rate (t(19) = 3.80, p
