Abstract
Even though many diseases may still be in their infancy in the society,
modern medical science has many facilities and advanced technologies
for treating patients. One of these disorders, psoriasis, has a significant
psychological and social impact on the patient's life. Psoriasis is more
than just a problem with the skin because of its manifestations.
Psoriasis is a long-lasting autoimmune and chronic inflammatory skin
disorder clinically characterized by erythematous, sharply demarcated
papules and rounded plaques, covered by silvery micaceous scale
predominantly affecting the skin of elbows, gluteal cleft, knees and
scalp. The appearance of the skin frequently lowers the quality of life
of Psoriasis patients. However, the current medical system's treatment
options are not particularly satisfactory. Because psoriasis is a disease
that is difficult to treat, treating it is not only difficult for patients but also for "Vaidya" in
Ayurveda. It might be related to Ekkushta. There are a number of drugs and preparations
mentioned in the Ayurvedic Classics. This can rejuvenate the skin. The present work has been under taken to study-Management of Ekkushta (Psoriasis) Through Virechana Karma with Patolmulaadi Kwath and Mustaadi Kwath.
