CLINICAL EVALUATION OF VAMANA KARMA IN POLY CYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME (ARTAVAKASHYA)â€

. Abstract Artava Kashya is a common clinical presentation among different endocrinal disorders. Artava Kashya can be correlated with PCOS in modern science where there is scanty flow of menses with hirsutism and obesity. In the present clinical study, the subjects were incidentally selected according to specifically designed inclusion criteria and were randomly placed containing 30 subjects. The effect of therapy given was assessed on the basis of improvement in the Subjective parameters like Duration of Menstruation and Interval of Menstruation and Objective Parameters like S. LH, S.FSH and USG (right and left ovary). In this trial, it was found that Vamana Karma had 60% of moderate effect on all parameters. The results of the follow-up study showed that the relief provided by the therapy remains consistent as no recurrence was reported by any subjects up to the three month follow up study.
