AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF HALITOSIS – A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Halitosis is an unpleasant odor that comes from the mouth also known as oral malodor or Bad breadth. It affects the majority of people, regardless of age and a leading cause of stress and Psychological embarrassments related to society. Nearly 50% of the general population suffers from halitosis making it a fairly widespread condition. Although there are many causes of halitosis, the oral cavity is the origin of 90% of cases due to issues with oral hygiene, periodontal disease, food impaction, tongue coat and throat infections ect. Ayurveda states that vitiation of the Kapha & Pitta dosha, Agnimandhya and Aama are the primary causes of the illness. The primary goal of the current case study was to identify some effective and widely recognized medications for this excruciating disease. Therefore, in the current case study a 32-year-old married male patient came to the Swasthavritta and Yoga OPD complaining of a terrible or unpleasant odor coming from his oral cavity. For 20 days the patient received oral ayurvedic treatment including Shaman (Pacification) chikitsa and kavala (Gargles). Fantastic effects can be obtained via ayurvedic therapy.
