APUNARBHAVA CHIKITSA OF KADAR (CORN) WITH AGNIKARMA – A CASE STUDY

. Abstract In the classical texts of Ayurveda, the Application of heat to the part which is affected is called Agnikarma. The term Kadar is described under Kshudra Roga by Acharya Sushruta in Nidan Sthana chapter 13th, Could be explained as hard thickening resulting from hyperkeratosis of skin of dependent parts (pressure points) could be sole or palms or edges of fingers resulting from constant pressure or longstanding traumas which are minor in nature which when co realted can be considered as Corn by modern Science. A 48 years old Male patient came with the complaint of multiple painful lesions in the left sole came to our Opd. After evaluating the lesions, we came to the diagnosis and diagnosed it as Kadar (Corn). Acharya Sushruta in Chikitsa Sthana chapter 20th, while explaining the Chikitsa for Kadar mentioned Agnikarma, So, following the Line of treatment we performed Agnikarma with Raupya Shalaka following the Bindu pattern with the tip of Shalaka. Patient got relief instantly with the wound being healed in 12 days. Patient was followed up for 2 months, no reoccurrence was noticed. Keywords: Agnikarma, Kadar, Ayurveda, Corn.
