A COMPARATIVE CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY OF MRIDU PAKA AND MADHYAMA PAKA KARPASASTHYADI TAILA NASYA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF APABAHUKA W.S.R. TO FROZEN SHOULDER

. Abstract Apabahuka is one among the Vataja Nanatmaja Vyadhi. The vitiated Vata get localized in Amsa Pradesha and does the Sankocha of Siras, which results in pain and stiffness of shoulder joint. This condition is known as Apabahuka. It can be compared with Frozen shoulder (Adhesive capsulitis), a condition that causes restricted range of active and passive glenohumeral motion of the shoulder joint. AIM: The present study was taken up with the objective of evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of Mridu Paka and Madhyama Paka Karpasasthyadi Taila Nasya in the treatment of Apabahuka. Materials and Methods: The study design selected for the study was a comparative clinical study. The sample size for the study was 30 patients suffering from classical Lakshanas of Apabahuka as per the selection criteria. Procedures was done in 15 patients in two groups, Group A with Mridu Paka Karpasasthyadi Taila Nasya and Group B with Madhyama Paka Karpasasthyadi Taila Nasya. Patients were asked to follow a Parihara Kala for 14days and advised to report on the 21st day for follow up. Results: In Group A (Mridu Paka Karpasasthyadi Taila Nasya), The subjective parameters Shoola and Objective parameters Unnamana, Avannamana, Prasarana, Akunchana, Tiryak Gamana and SPADI had shown statistically highly significant as p value was Keywords: Nasya Karma, Apabahuka, Mridu and Madhyama Paka Karpasasthyadi Taila.
