COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF ATIVISHA – ACONITUM HETEROPHYLLUM

. Abstract Ativisha (Aconitum heterophyllum wall) of family Ranunculaceae is an Ayurvedic herb which is known for its significant medicinal properties. A variety of ayurveda remedies utilise the plant's roots in one way or another. Diterpene alkaloids, which are the main chemicals with pharmacological activity such as analgesic and anti-inflammatory, are among the numerous phytochemical elements (metabolites) that are extracted from this plant, therefore an attempt has been made to review the different studied carried out in its chemistry as well as pharmacology. It is an a biennial herb with thick tuberous root, distributed in Himalayas from Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, at an altitude between 2500-4000 m.
