Abstract The term “microemulsion” refers to a thermodynamically stable isotropically clear dispersion of 2 immiscible liquids, such as oil & water, stabilized by an interfacial film of surfactant molecule. Nowadays microemulsion is an emerging trend and worldwide importance in a variety of technological applications.[1] This review article deals with feature and applications of microemulsion, a brief introduction and definition, structure, type, GMP and GLP requirements for microeulsion, optimisation techhniques, formulation characteristics, evaluation and stability studies.
