Abstract

Mouth dissolving Tablets have acquired an important position in the market by overcoming previously encountered administration problems and contributing to extension of patent life. Mouth Dissolving Tablet have the unique property of rapidly disintegrating and/or dissolving and releasing the drug as soon as they come in contact with saliva.[1] They offer an advantage over swallowing tablets and capsules. Difficulty to swallow is particularly experienced by pediatric and geriatric patients. Technique that are frequently employed in the preparation of mouth dissolving tablets include, freeze drying, sublimation, spray drying, moulding, mass extrusion and direct compression.[2]
