This abstract provides a concise overview of AVN, summarizing its etiology, risk factors, clinical Avascular necrosis (AVN), also known as osteonecrosis, is a debilitating medical manifestations, diagnostic methods, and treatment options. AVN can affect various joints, most commonly the hip and knee, and its prevalence is rising due to the increasing prevalence of associated risk factors such as corticosteroid use, alcoholism, and trauma. Early detection of AVN is crucial for successful management, and diagnostic techniques include radiography, MRI, and bone scans. Treatment approaches range from conservative measures like pain management and lifestyle modifications to surgical interventions like core decompression and joint replacement. This abstract serves as a foundation for a comprehensive understanding of AVN, highlighting the importance of early intervention and multidisciplinary care in improving patient outcomes.
