SAMPRAPTI VIVECHAN : UCHCHARAKTACHAP/HYPERTENSION - CONCEPTUAL STUDY

. Abstract Hypertension, most commonly known as ‘High blood pressure’ is deemed to be a silent killer which is widely prevalent among the country. It is one among the various lifestyle disorders resulting due to number of reasons like, stress, obesity, faulty food habits, sedentary lifestyle, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, excessive salt intake, genetic disorder, etc. There is no straight reference about Hypertension in Ayurvedic texts. Different theories have been proposed to explain Hypertension from an Ayurvedic perspective, but there is no consensus amongst the experts. A better understanding of the applied physiology and etio- pathogenesis of Hypertension as per Ayurvedic principles is being attempted to fill this gap. Though in patients of Hypertension involvement of etiological factors are differ from person to person we can not considered only single Samprapti for understanding it, so classification of etiological factors in different category can help to understand the causes of Hypertension in Ayurvedic perspective and thus can help to treat the condition also. So in present study we are trying to show different pathophysiology of Hypertension according to their relative etiological factors as per the concept of Ayurveda.
