ROLE OF PUSHPADHANWA RASA AND GOKSHURA CHURNA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF OLIGONECROSPERMIA-A CASE REPORT

. Abstract Oligonecrospermia is a rare and poorly documented condition contributing to male infertility, with reported incidence in infertile males ranging from 0.2% to 0.5%. This condition is characterized by dead or immotile spermatozoa with low sperm volume in ejaculated semen. As per the World Health Organization's sperm norms, sperm viability is considered optimal when equal to or higher than 75% in human semen samples, and fertility is compromised below this threshold. In Ayurveda, Shukra Dosha, referring to pathological disorders of sperm/semen, is categorized into eight types. Oligonecrospermia aligns with Vataja Shukra Dosha in Ayurveda. A 29-year-old male patient diagnosed with oligonecrospermia sought consultation at the outpatient department. The patient underwent a 30- day oral treatment with Pushpadhanwa rasa and Gokshura Churna. Subsequent semen analysis at the end of the treatment period revealed a marked improvement in sperm count and an increase in sperm motility. These findings underscore the effective management of oligonecrospermia with Ayurvedic formulations, suggesting promising avenues for further research in the treatment of male infertility disorders.
