Rosy Nandi*, Archana Pagad, Pallavi K. B. and Ashvini Kumar M.
. Abstract The Panchavidha Kashaya Kalpana has great importance as they form the basic dosage forms, from which other secondary dosage forms are prepared. Among them, Kwatha Kalpana is the most considerable and extensively used dosage form in Panchakarma. Kashaya is usually meant for instantaneous use in all procedures. Basti chikitsa is the prime treatment modality among Panchakarma and is praised as Ardha chikitsa. Among them, Niruha Basti chikitsa is used in many diseases and kashaya is one of the main ingredients, which requires instant preparation before administration and its shelf life is less compared to secondary preparations. Hence, modification in the preparation of kashaya is needed without compromising the therapeutic efficacy. Since Erandamuladi Niruha Basti is extensively used in practice, its kashaya has been selected for the present study. Here an attempt has been made to prepare Rasakriya from Erandamuladi Kashaya. The conversion has the advantage over instant preparation of Kashaya i.e.prolonged shelf life and storage for longer duration. Keywords: Panchavidha Kashaya Kalpana, Panchakarma, Niruha Basti, Kwatha, Erandamuladi Kashaya. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
