“A SINGLE CASE STUDY OF AYURVEDA MANAGEMENT OF VATARAKTA DISEASEâ€

. Abstract Vatarakta is one of the unique disorders among vatavyadhi compared to other vatavyadhis. In vatarkata vatadosha and the Dhushya Rakta are vitiated simultaneously and then finally get lodged in the small joint i.e. Parvasandhi. Therefore in general the disease vatarakta gives rise to symptoms like pain, swelling, tenderness, stiffness, discolouration and burning sensation. Panchakarma procedure like Basti and internal Ayurvedic medicine have been proved benificial in the management of vatarakta. The present Report deals with the case of vatarakta came to care for Ayurvedic treatment. A criteria for Assessment was based on VAS scale and Sr. Uric Acid Level. Assessment were carried out before and after treatment. Patient has showed good improvement in reducing elevated sr.uric acid level. Also symptomatic Improvement was found in reduction of signs and symptoms like pain, swelling, tenderness and stiffness at the site of small joints. It shows that, Ayurvedic treatment seems to be promising in the management of vatarakta without causing any adverse effects.
