APPLICATION OF HYPHENATION TECHNIQUES IN HERBAL DRUG STANDARDISATION

Abstract Ayurveda is a 5000yrs old science also called as Traditional or the Complementary medicine. Since centuries Ayurveda is known for its effective and unique medicines in which most of them are poly herbal or herbo-mineral in nature. Dravyaguna is a branch that exclusively deals with the preparation and standardization of the medicines. Currently, research in Ayurveda is more focused on the regulations laid down by WHO and other regulating bodies in the production of an effective and a standard drug. With this objective many studies are being undertaken with the application of both the Ayurvedic knowledge and Modern technologies using the analytical and physicochemical studies. The more recent and the advanced Hyphenation techniques in drug standardization is trending in the Modern pharmaceuticals.
