MAJOR NADI IN UPANISHAD

. Abstract Nadi are the energy channels which carries the Prana. Prana is a vital or life sustaining force. According to Atharveda, Nadi is as Strotas or channels. Nadi is innumerable in number. Their counting varies from 3,50000, 300000, 72000, 16, 14, 12 and 10. Mainly Acharya mentions 14 (Ida, Pingala, Sushumna, Gandhari, Hastijihva, Poosha, Yashasvini, Alambusha, Kuhu, Sankhini, Saraswati, Vishvodari, Payaswini, Varuni) or 10 Nadi (Ida, Pingala, Sushumna, Gandhari, Hastijihva, Poosha, Yashasvini, Alambusha, Kuhu, Sankhini). The enumeration, position & location of Nadi varies according to various of Upanishad. Out of these 14 are Major Nadi, most important Nadi are three i.e Ida, Pingala & Sushumna which runs from the base of spine to the Brahmarandhra (head). Ida on the left side, Pingala on the right side & Sushumna is in the middle of body. Sushumna has six stages, six forces, six lotuses which are known to the Yogi.
