EXPLORING FULVESTRANT IN BREAST CANCER TREATMENT: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
G. Govinda Raju*, D. Rama Brahma Reddy and T. J. Mohan Rao
. Abstract For millions of women around the world, breast cancer remains a serious health risk. A potential treatment option for hormone receptorpositive breast cancer is fulvestrant, a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD). We hope to study the effectiveness, safety, and possible mechanisms of action of fulvestrant in the treatment of breast cancer in this thorough study. We start by discussing Fulvestrant’s pharmacological characteristics and stressing its distinct mode of action as a pure antagonist of estrogen receptors. We talk about how fulvestrant inhibits estrogen signalling, which in turn causes the expression of estrogen receptors to be downregulated, which in turn stops tumour growth. We also look at the clinical data that supports the use of Fulvestrant as a monotherapy for breast cancer in both the early and advanced phases. Additionally, we discuss the use of Fulvestrant in combination with other endocrine medicines or targeted therapies, among other combination tactics. We explore the possible advantages of these strategies in enhancing patient outcomes and examine current clinical trials examining the effectiveness of fulvestrant in combination regimens. Every treatment plan must take safety into account, and we carefully assess Fulvestrant’s adverse event profile. We examine the most typical adverse effects linked to fulvestrant therapy and go over ways to minimize and control them. Lastly, we provide some perspectives on current studies and potential future avenues for the field of fulvestrant therapy research. We cover new developments in the field, innovative combinations of treatments, and putative biomarkers that could help with patient selection and therapy optimization. This article seeks to add to the expanding body of knowledge in this field by offering a thorough assessment of the use of fulvestrant in the treatment of breast cancer and to help doctors make well-informed treatment decisions. Keywords: Breast cancer, fulvestrant, hormone receptor-positive, fulvestrant therapy. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
