Asma Sattar Khan*, Shoeb Ahmed Ansari, Usha Devi, Firoz Ahmad Ansari, Suryansh Kashyap, Reesha Ahmed and Ram Pratap Meena
. Abstract Habb-e-Asgand is a compound Unani formulation that is safe and effective, and has high therapeutic value for Gout (Niqras), Lumbago (Waja-ul-Warik), and Arthralgia (Waja-ul-Mafasil). Hence, there is an urgent need for standardization and development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) of Habb-e-Asgand to produce quality medicine in the market. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) were created at the laboratory scale utilizing components that have been botanically identified and standardized in order to prepare high-quality medication. The organoleptic evaluation (Color, taste and aroma) of the formulation samples, the pharmacopoeial parameters (Microscopy, HPTLC value), the physico-chemical analysis such as water and alcohol extractive values, the Ash Value, Acid Insoluble Ash, loss on drying value, pH value and volatile oil, and the WHO quality control parameters (heavy metal estimation, aflatoxins, pesticide residue and microbial loads) were used to assess the samples. Keywords: Microscopy; Physico-chemical analysis; heavy metal; HPTLC; Pesticides; SOPs. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
