A BRIEF REVIEW ON: HERBAL COUGH SYRUP

. Abstract The cough is one of the most prevalent issues that everyone faces. There are two different kinds of coughs: wet cough and dry cough. While there is cough mucus or secretion with a wet cough, there is neither with a dry cough. Due to its ease of patient compliance, syrup is the most widely used and popular dosage form for treating colds and coughs. The herbal cough syrup was created with basic medications like Pudina and Tulsi or cinnamon as a primary component, combined with honey. Herbal medicine, which refers to the use of fruit extract for medicinal purposes, was initially the source of the majority of herbal syrup. In addition to other dosages from herbal medications, syrup formulations are also included. Syrup is now used to treat a wide range of illnesses and manage their symptoms. Herbal syrup with natural ingredients like tulsi, clove, fennel, turmeric, and adulsa, which have a variety of actions and effects to reduce colds and coughs, both acute and chronic, as well as act as expectorant and anti-tussive properties.
