AYURVEDIC REVIEW & MANAGEMENT OF URETHRAL STRICTURE A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra due to scar tissue, which leads to obstructive voiding dysfunction. Overall incidence is estimated to be 229-627 per 1, 00, 000 males. The anterior urethra is most frequently affected (92. 2%), in particular the bulbar urethra (46. 9%). In India, it is estimated that 4 to 10 per 1, 000 have this condition. It is mostly seen in men over 50 years of age. In the younger age group, it is caused due to underlying illness, infections, trauma or inflammation In modern surgery, the treatment of urethral stricture involves urethral dilatation, optical urethrotomy and urethroplasty. But chances of reccurence are there with less significant results. Acharya Sushruta describes 12 types of Mutraghat & 8 types of Mutrakriccha. The pathology of Mutrotsanga can be in urethra, anywhere from the bladder to the tip of the penis. Stricture Urethra symptoms can be corelate with this. In Abhigataj Mutrakriccha Due to any Shalya or trauma in Mutravahi Strotas painful micturition happens. Acharya Sushrut & Acharya Charak Mentioned Uttarbasti In treatment Of Mutraghat & Mutra Kriccha. In this case study We choose jatyadi taila uttarbasti along with oral medicines & result observed. The patient obtained remarkable improvement in his condition. This case highlights the fact that it is possible to treat the cases of urethral stricture with Uttara Basti.
