Abstract

Various floating tablet compositions for Cefuroxime axetil were created employing various polymers such as HPMC, Ethyl cellulose, EudragitRL-100, and HPC, as well as fillers such as lactose, MCC, and gas producing agents such as sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. The lubricant was magnesium stearate. As a binder material, poly vinyl pyrolidone in isopropyl alcohol was utilised. Wet granulation was used to create a variety of floating tablet compositions. For regulated medication delivery, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose K4M and ethyl cellulose were used as release retardants. The superdisintegrant sodium starch glycolate utilised in this investigation is a swelling agent. The HPC is also primarily employed for the drug's controlled release. To quickly commence the effervescent reaction and the floating mechanism, a polymer coating with a strong elasticity quality and great water- and lower CO2 permeabilities (Eudragit® RL100:acetyltributyl citrate 20 percent, w:w) was used for the floating system. This property is used in the manufacture of cefuroxime axetil buoyant and controlled release dosage forms. In the vicinity of 0.1 N HCL, sodium bicarbonate has been employed as a gas-generating substance that stimulates CO2 production. The drug release from F6 (HPMC K4M: Eudragit RL 100) demonstrates that when HPMC K4M is combined with eudragit RL 100, the drug release of the composition is reduced compared to F1 (HPMC K4M). Polymers have a tendency to swell, which causes this. According to the foregoing findings, composition F7 (HPMC-K: HPC) is the best of the six compositions since it exhibits well controlled drug release from Pharmaceutical formulations.
