PYRAZOLE-QUINAZOLINE HYBRIDS AS POTENT ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTHELMINTIC ACTIVITY: DESIGN, SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION
A. Jyothsna* and K. Padma Latha
. Abstract In the design of novel drugs, the formation of hybrid molecules via the combination of several pharmacophores can give rise to compounds with interesting biochemical profiles. A series of novel Prazole- Quinazoline hybrids (7a-7j) were synthesized, characterized and evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial and anthelmintic activities. All compounds, were synthesized through four steps method and structurally evaluated by FTIR, 1H-NMR and Mass spectroscopy. In order to evaluate the biological activities, the synthesized hybrid compounds were studied for in vitro antibacterial activity against three Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis (Gram positive) and Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia (Gram negative) and also, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus tevatus, Pencillium notatum like fungi strain. Among the synthesized compounds 7c, 7e and 7h showed good antibacterial, antifungal and anthelmintic activities. Keywords: Quinazoline, Pyrazole, Anti-microbial, Anthelmintic activity, Streptomycin and Albendazole. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
