PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATION AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF KASASHWASAHARI GUTIKA AND ITS ANTIMICROBIAL STUDY (IN-VITRO)

. Abstract Herbo-mineral formulations in ayurveda are well known for higher potency in lesser doses. Kasashwasahari gutika is one of the herbomineral formulation which is widely used in ayurvedic practice. This drug has proven contents and literature available for their shwashar, and kasahar activity in classics. Though it is mentioned in classical texts there are scanty evidences regarding standardization of this drug. Shwasa and kasa are very common diseases as well as symptoms in many disorders and can be fatal in severe conditions. Noticing the major constituents of kasashwasahari gutika the study was planned to evaluate the physicochemical properties and antimicrobial effect of the mentioned drug in-vitro.
