OVERVIEW OF A MULTIPOTENT MEDICINAL TREE HERITIERA LITTORALIS: FOR FUTURE PROSPECTS

. Abstract The mangrove tree Heritiera littoralis, which grows along India's coast, is used for a variety of customs. H. littoralis roots are used as insecticidal and fish poison (piscicidal). Phytochemical constituents such as steroids, sesquiterpenes, anthroquinones, triterpenes, etc., are found in H.littoralis. Pharmacological properties of H. littoralis include antitubercular, cytotoxic, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. This review report will be useful to future researchers in keeping an eye on this multipotent tree for potential medical research that could support the preservation of life's equilibrium.
