BIOMARKERS ASSOCIATED WITH ENDOTHELIAL DYSFUNCTION
Indrakshi Tiwari, *Rahul Vaishnav, Manisha Khandelwal and Piyush Choudhary
. Abstract Important participants in the pathophysiology of stroke include von Willebrand factor (VWF) and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). Increased VWF levels are associated with poorer stroke outcomes and indicate endothelial dysfunction. The metalloprotease ADAMTS 13, which degrades VWF, exhibits potential for reducing inflammatory reactions. In the meantime, ICAM-1 affects the prognosis of stroke by promoting immune cell adhesion and is influenced by inflammatory mediators. Comprehending their functions could potentially open doors for therapeutic approaches aimed at managing stroke.
