. Abstract Kuzhambu is a traditional preparation extensively prepared and used in Kerala, It is a specialized evolved form of Sneha Kalpana. It is prepared by a combination of three Snehas, In Malayalam it is called Mukkutt. There is no reference or description of kuzhambu found in Vedas and Classical literature of Ayurveda. There is one reference available in the Pharmacopeia of Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in the name Mukkutt (Dhanvanthara Mukkut). It is a blend of three Sneha dravyas (Tila taila, Eranda Taila and Ghrita). This combination has higher efficacy and rate of absorption than that of single Sneha. It is used exclusively for external application especially for Vata Nanatmaja Vyadhis and Pittanubandha Vatavyadhis. Because of its viscous nature and greater heat retaining capacity, it is preferred in cases of chronic conditions and Kerala Panchakarma procedures like Abhyanga, Pizhichil, Dhara etc. Keywords: Sneha Kalapna, Kuzhambu, Mukkut.
