Abstract

An efficient and designed path way to multi step synthesis of (E)-N-(5- (4-nitrophenyl)-1, 3, 4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-1-phenylmethanimine derivatives and antimicrobial activity. This titled analogous were obtained by the compound (3) was treated with substituted aromatic aldehyde in the presence of Methane Sulphonic acid in ethanol as solvent at 760C. The compound (3) was prepared from the4-nitro benzoic acid with thiosemicarbazide in presence of protic acid such as H2SO4 in toluene as a solvent. The titled derivatives can be evaluated by advance spectroscopic data such as 1HNMR, 13CNMR and LCMS. The present methodology enhances majority of advantages such as high yields, relatively short reaction times, mild reaction condition, and easy work up. The experimental design method is used to optimize variables like temperature, catalyst quantity, and reaction time. In addition to study of antimicrobial activity.

Keywords: (E)-N-(5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1, 3, 4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-1-phenylmethanimine, aromatic aldehyde, MSA, 5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4- thiadiazol-2-amine, antimicrobial activity.
