Pallavi Amrit, Numan Sayyad, Saniya Gade, Prasad Dudhal, Vishal R. Rasve* and Akash Kale
. Abstract A newly patented technology, novel drug delivery systems, aims to overcome the constraints of conventional methods. Herbal remedies, historically used and perceived as safer alternatives to allopathic medicines, are gaining attention. Phytosomes represent a sophisticated interaction between natural compounds and organic phospholipids, offering enhanced pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties compared to traditional herbal drug delivery systems. Phytosomes are the chemical mixtures which are prepared from plants. Phytomedicines are the ancient method of treatment on disease. Many of the phytomedicines are limited in their effectiveness because they are poorly absorbing when they take orally. The Phyto means the plant and some means cell-like structure. Phytosomes are the advance herbal formulations which contains phytoconstituent’s which are bioactive and bound by lipids mainly obtain from herb extract. Phytomedicines active phytoconstituent’s are mainly water soluble like flavonoids. Flavonoids are the major watersoluble compound it possesses the broad therapeutic activity because of having water soluble herbal extract and having a lipophilic outer layer shows better absorption. These results produce a better bioavailability and action as compared dosage form. This review article provides a comprehensive examination of phytosomes, encompassing their attributes, benefits, and existing products in the market, highlighting their substantial potential as an advanced drug delivery approach. Keywords: Phytosomes, Phytomedicines, Conventional herbal extract, Phosphatialcholine, phospholipid. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
