SUTIKA PARICHARYA: A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Ayurveda places utmost importance on taking care of women at every stage of life like in rajswala avastha (during menstruation), garbhini avastha (during pregnancy) and sutika avastha (during postnatal period). Post natal period or puerperium is crucial time of changes in a women’s life as maternal physiological and anatomical changes returns to the normal state. Ayurveda has described in detail about postnatal period under the heading of sutika paricharya. It is mentioned in the terms of ahar(diet), vihara(regimen) and aushdha(medicines). The main goal is to regain the strength and vitality. This study shows proper implementation of sutika paricharya which is helpful to the mother throughout the whole postnatal period.
