EFFECTS OF OTAGO EXERCISES VERSUS DUAL TASK TRAINING ON BALANCE AMONG GERIATRICS

Abstract Background of The Study: Various lines of treatment regimens were discussed earlier to deal with balance but the Otago exercises versus dual task training has a significant impact on balance. The Otago training regimen greatly improves lower limb strength, balance, and gait in elderly population N. Patel et. al. 2015. Aim of The Study: The aim of the study was to compare the effects of Otago exercises versus dual task training on balance among geriatrics. Objectives of the study: To assess the effects of Otago exercises on balance among geriatrics. To assess the effects of dual task training on balance among geriatrics. To compare the effects of Otago exercises versus dual task training on balance among geriatrics. Methodology: This study was a comparative study, which was conducted with 40 participants and were divided into two groups with 20 participants on each group. Group A performed Otago exercises and group B performed dual task training. Outcome Measures: Timed up and go test. Result: The statistical analysis of the study revealed that there was a significant improvement in the Group A than group B. Keywords: Otago, dual task training, TUG, balance, geriatrics.
