HERBAL HAIR GEL: FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS

Abstract

Hair loss or alopecia is a common disorder that is related to the loss of hair in individuals that belong to any age group. Alopecia, is a dermatological disorder and it has been recognized for more than 2000+ years, is an important problem in cosmetic as well as primary health care practices. The present work is done by formulating an herbal hair gel from Aloe Vera, Hibiscus flower, Neem leaves, Jasmine flower, and Xanthan gum. The formulation was evaluated for various physical parameters like pH, viscosity, spreadability, homogeneity, stability studies, skin irritation and washability, and foreign particles. The formula was evaluated in colour, transparency, odour, visual appearance, foreign particles, and transparency.
