Abstract

SYNTHESIS AND ANTI OXIDANT ACTIVITY OF ACETALDEHYDE DERIVATIVE OF HETEROCYCLIC DIBENZO-1,4 DIOXIN

Abstract

The drug Dibenzodioxin also called as Dibezo-1,4 dioxin, dibenzo(p)dioxin is a polycyclic and heterocyclic organic compound in which two benzene rings are connected by a 1,4-dioxine ring, dioxin ring is structurally two oxygen occupy opposite para position in the six membered dioxin rings. Dioxin and dioxin like compounds are a category of pollutants that include PCDDS (poly chlorinated dibenzo dioxins) and other compounds that have similar structure, toxicity and persistence. The drug here we discussed is a skeleton of polybrominated dibenzodioxins (PBDD). The toxicity of PCDDs depends on the number and positions of the chlorine atoms. Congeners that have chlorine in the 2, 3, 7, and 8 positions have been found to be significantly toxic. In fact, 7 congeners have chlorine atoms in the relevant positions which were considered toxic by the World Health333Organization toxic equivalent (WHO-TEQ) scheme. Dioxins are absorbed primarily through dietary intake of fat, as this is where they accumulate in animals and humans. In humans, the highly chlorinated dioxins are stored in fatty tissues and are neither, readily metabolized nor excreted. The estimated elimination half-life for highly chlorinated dioxins (4–8 chlorine atoms) in humans ranges from 4.9 to 13.1 years. The drug we synthesized from 1,2,4-trichloro-5-nitro benzene and 4-chlorobenzene -1,2-diole which is starting compounds under the presence of KOH and Hexamethyl phosphoramide and refluxed up to 180°C for 4 hours. The final resulting product is identified by spectral analsys.ss This compound is anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, specifically Antipyretic. In this article we discuss about the brief information of the compound, synthesis, analytical data and other aspect related to the drug.
