“IMPORTANCE OF JATIPATRADI KWATHA GANDUSHA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF MUKHAPAKA – A CASE REPORTâ€

. Abstract Ayurveda is the science of life, in which the main aim is prevention is better than cure.[1] Shalakya Tantra is mentioned as Urdhavanga Chikitsa in Ashtanga Ayurveda. It deals with diseases related to the ear, nose, eye etc Urdhavajatrugata organs.[2] Mukha is one of the important parts of our body as well as starting part of digestive system or Annavaha Strotas. Therefore, proper hygiene has to be maintained for Mukha or mouth. Mukhapaka is among the Mukharogas which is commonly found in ENT and general practice. It is formed due to the vitiation of Kapha Dosha at the site of mouth region. As per modern it can be correlated with Stomatitis or mouth ulcer. For the management of Mukharogas there are various treatments available in Ayurveda, like Gandusha, Kavala, Shamana Chikitsa. This all helps to reduce Sthanika Kapha Dosha dushti which gives relief. So therefore, here in this case study, Jatipatradi Kwatha Gandusha is used for the management of Mukhapaka. Keywords: Mukhapaka, Stomatitis, Jatipatradi Kwatha Gandusha.
