REVIEW ON HERBAL OINTMENT

. Abstract The current work aims to provide an overview of the formulation and evaluation of herbal ointments containing neem (Azadirachta indica), turmeric (Curcuma longa), tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum Linn) and Amla (Emblica officinalis). The interest in and use of herbal treatments has grown significantly in recent years, even in places where access to modern medicine is available. An ointment including neem (Azadirachta indica), turmeric (Curcuma longa), tulsi (Ocimum Sanctum Linn) and amla (Emblica officinalis) extract is being developed and evaluated in the current work. These four plants are widely utilised in traditional medicine and have long been known to offer therapeutic benefits. These extracts used in ointment compositions show potential for treating a range of dermatological diseases. The information currently known on the formulation methods, phytochemical makeup, and evaluation parameters of herbal ointments comprising extracts of tulsi, turmeric, amla, and neem is compiled in this review. The creation of a herbal ointment with antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-cancerous using plants is the primary goal of this study.
