. Abstract The aim of the present study was the comparative evaluation of invitro anti-inflammatory activity of oral poly herbal formulation gutika. The in- vitro anti-inflammatory activity was investigated by protein denaturation method using egg’s albumin. The fine powder of the plants is used for the preparation of three types of gutika containing Hemigraphis colorata, Ayyapana triplinervis and combination of both. In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of all formulated gutika were estimated by protein denaturation method using egg’s albumin at 200- 1000micro gram per ml concentration. The result was assessed uv spectrophotometer at 660 nm and compared with the diclofenac sodium as standard drug. The result revealed that the three types of gutika possessed significant anti-inflammatory activity. But the gutika containing combination of Hemigraphis colorata and ayapana triplinervis exhibited the maximum percentage inhibition of protein denaturation at 1000 micro gram per ml concenetrations 86.03 the standard drug diclofenac sodium showed 98.27 % inhibition for egg’s albumin method respectively. The study concluded that the formulations is an effective inhibition of orotein denaturation and showed potent anti-inflammatory activity. Keywords: Hemigraphis colorata, ayapana triplinervis, invitro anti-inflammatory activity, protein denaturation. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
