. Abstract The small intestine is the least common site of GI bleeding but is the commonest cause of obscure GI bleed Accounting for 5%- 10%. It is estimated that upper gastro-intestinal bleeding (UGIB) (from the oesophagus to duodenum), lower gastro-intestinal bleeding (LGIB) (from the colon and anorectum) and obscure bleeding account, respectively, for 50%, 40% and 10% of total GI bleeding.
