A REVIEW ON HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE IN CASES OF COPD
Narender Kumar*, Niralee K. Somaiya, Sudhir Sharma and Reena Ranwa
. Abstract Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common preventable and treatable disease, is characterized by persistent airflow limitation that is usually progressive and associated with an enhanced chronic inflammatory response in the airways and the lung to noxious particles or gases. Exacerbations and comorbidities contribute to the overall severity in individual patients. It remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and results in an economic and social burden that is both substantial and increasing. Often the prevalence of COPD is directly related to the prevalence of tobacco smoking, although in many countries, outdoor, occupational and indoor air pollution, the latter resulting from the burning of wood and other biomass fuels are major COPD risk factors. Many people suffer from this disease for years and die prematurely from it or its complications. WHO has estimated that about one in three adult males above 40 years of age suffer from any stage of COPD which presently is the fourth leading cause of death and will soon become 3rd leading cause of death worldwide by 2020 and is the only chronic disease with this upward trend in mortality. COPD is a difficult to cure„and a life threatning„ disease but still the there are very limited treatments available and there is a dire need to develop newer and effective 4 therapies. Homoeopathic treatment is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The purpose of homoeopathy is not only to treat COPD symptoms but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility. Keywords: . [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
