AN OVERVIEW: METRONIDAZOLE TABLETED MICROSPHERE FOR COLONIC DELIVERY

. Abstract Microspheres are small spherical particles typically ranging from a few micrometers to a few millimeters in diameter. They are often used as drug carriers due to their high surface area-to-volume ratio, which allows for controlled drug release and targeting. Microspheres can be made from various materials, including polymers, ceramics, and lipids. Tableting is a common pharmaceutical manufacturing process used to compress powders or granules into solid tablets. Tablets are convenient dosage forms that offer accurate dosing, ease of administration, and stability. By incorporating microspheres into tablets, the benefits of both dosage forms can be combined.
