Sreelakshmi K. P.*, Neethu P., Sushitha V. S., Angela Gabriel, Adithya K. and Abhina M.
. Abstract In this investigation, the phytochemical content of leaf extracts from Cyclea peltata (menispermaceae) will be screened for and quantified. The Cyclea peltata ethanolic extract and aqueous extract were subjected to qualitative secondary metabolite screening and quantitative flavonoid, phenol screening. A phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of tannins, flavanoids, triterpenes, alkaloids, and carbohydrates. Moisture content, total ash value, water, and acid insoluble value are revealed through pharmacognostic research. Value extracted as well as alcoholic and water-based extracts, respectively. Through early phytochemical analysis, the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, carbohydrates, proteins and amino acid, tannins, saponins, and terpenoids were confirmed in all different types of extracts. To conclude, this study could be used as a diagnostic tool for the standardization for this medicinal plant and will be helpful in the characterization of the crude drug. The drug is a component of several Ayurvedic treatments. It is advised for the management of skin disorders, vomiting, and diarrhea. It's also supposed to have wound-healing and antimicrobial qualities. Studies have shown the plant's antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-ulcer qualities. Keywords: Moisture Content, Ash Value, Extractive Value, Foreign organic matter, Percentage yield Phyto chemical screening, Physico chemical constant, qualitative microscopy.
