Abstract

AYURVED MANAGEMENT OF RAKTAGAT PITTAVRUDHI W.S.R. TO ROSACEA-A SINGLE CASE REPORT

Abstract

"Skin acts as a protective barrier against various and supports the wellness of the body's organs. Along safeguarding underlying tissues and structures, the entire body is shielded by a protective layer known as the skin. Rosacea is a type of inflammatory dermatosis, have a tendency to affect individuals with fair skin. Unevenness in a pittadosha, which can be affected by their lifestyle or diet, can unsettle the body's stability. Skin conditions involve the interplay of tri-dosha but are primarily associated with pitta imbalance (The element of heat). Common skin conditions such as rosacea, urticarial, psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, and other inflammatory conditions can occur due to imbalances in the doshas, resulting in an excess of heated pitta. According to Ayurveda, rosacea is generally an excess of rasagata pittavrudhi. In this Case Report Patient 29 year-old female had been suffered from hot flushing, redness on the face, and bumps, and makes the skin dry up itching repeatedly for about 4 months, and it worsened after she eat greasy foods. She felt embarrassed and anxious because of the redness, red rash, and bumps increased, which affected her social activity and life. She had used metronidazole cream, antifungal drugs, and steroidal ointments during those 4 months, but the effectiveness was poor. So, she stopped these treatments and decided to try ayurvedic treatment. 29 yearold female diagnosed with Raktagata pittavrudhi (ROSACEA) and treated with ayurvedic medicine pittashamak and ratkapachak successfully. This Case report would be helpful for ayurvedic practitioners to give appropriate ayurvedic treatment to Rosacea patient.”
