Geeta Patel*, Nakshi Patel, Anvi Patel and Karina Satwani
. Abstract This study explores the formulation of an environmentally friendly lip balm with herbal ingredients, emphasizing its attractiveness in the cosmetic industry. The lip balm serves as a preventive measure against lip dryness, providing nourishment and protection against environmental factors. Notably, the inclusion of Gir cow ghee and turmeric in the formulation offers health benefits, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties. The homogenous mixing method was employed to address challenges in formulating the lip balm. Different fourteen formulations were tried to develop medicated lip balm. Among the developed formulations, the one containing cow ghee and turmeric was finalized and optimized. Evaluation parameters such as pH, melting point, texture analysis, organoleptic properties, and spreadability were assessed. The resulting lip balm offers medicinal properties, providing effective moisturization and healing for dry, chapped, and cracked lips.
