. Abstract This review explores the recent trends in herbal drugs. In recent times, more people worldwide are embracing medicinal plant products for healthcare. The global demand for alternative medicine has led to the expansion of natural product markets and a renewed interest in traditional medicine systems. Herbal drug technology plays a crucial role in transforming botanical materials into medicines, emphasizing the need for standardization, quality control, and the integration of modern scientific techniques with traditional knowledge. Herbal medicines constitute a significant part of the growing preference for alternative medicine. They have a long history of use, dating back to the early days of civilization, for maintaining health and treating various diseases. To keep up with the expanding pharmaceutical market, it is crucial to utilize and scientifically authenticate more herbal products with medicinal value. This article aims to provide a general understanding of herbal medicines. It seeks to explain the therapeutic effectiveness of various herbal medicines, address issues such as adverse drug reactions and drug interactions, and emphasize the importance of standardization and stability testing in herbal medicines.
