A CASE REPORT ON INTRACRANIAL TUBERCULOMA

. Abstract Intracranial tuberculoma is rare and uncommon form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis caused by hematogenous spread of mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. The symptoms includes headache, nausea, vomiting, ataxia, diplopia, motor weakness, and seizures. Incidence rate of intracranial tuberculoma accounts for approximately 15-30% in developing countries. Case Description: we reported a 23 year old female patient presented with severe headache and stabbing type of pain since 4 to 5 months, and past history was nothing significant, laboratory examination were abnormal, The diagnosis of an intracranial tuberculoma confirmed through the neurological examination such as computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging scan, these imaging resulted that two well defined ring enhancing lesions in bilateral parietal lobe. She was treated with symptomatic treatment along antituberculosis therapy. Conclusion: Intracranial tuberculoma is rare and most severe manifestations of central nervous system tuberculoma.it has a high rate of morbidity and mortality, early detection of the symptoms and treating with antituberculosis therapy results the best patient outcome.
