. Abstract This retrospective study focuses on analyzing the distribution of various types of cancer among different gender groups within a tertiary care hospital setting. This study is a hospital-based 6-month retrospective study involving 400 patients from the Oncology department of Parumala Hospital. Data was collected with the help of case report forms which included Laboratory values, diagnosis, treatment, sex, age, and Naranjo scale to assess the adverse drug reactions experienced. This study helps to analyze the prevalence and distribution of different types of cancer among male and female patients. Data was collected from Medical records of cancer patients from a specified period. Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests were used to assess the proportion of different cancer types across genders. Thus, the importance of the study includes the health burden of cancer patients, their role in treating complex cases, and diverse patient populations. The findings contribute to evidence-based practices in oncology, informing clinical decision-making and public health policies. Upon the gender-wise distribution of cancer, males showed a greater number of cases of prostate cancer by 18.75% and females showed 36.61% of breast cancer. Prostate Cancer in Males: Males exhibited a higher proportion (18.75%) of prostate cancer cases compared to other types of cancer. This implies that prostate cancer is a significant concern among males.
