A REVIEW ON BIOFIBER AND BIOPOLYMERS IN WOUND MANAGEMENT
Saniya Majhar Sayyed* and Md. Ismail Mouzam
. Abstract The largest organ in the human body, the skin, has a number of important functions. As a result, the healing of a cutaneous wound represents an outstanding method of signalling pathway that is unique in nature. This review focuses on wound healing using biofibers and biopolymers, because of the healing and regeneration occur in various regions of the human body. A wound is defined as the loss or breaking of cellular components of the mucosal layer of the skin due to disruption in the epithelial lining of the mucosal membrane. Biofiber is a brand-new generation of textured bandages that are very absorbent and include unique fiber technology. Biofiber has been designed with specialised features to treat difficult injuries like burns. It has a sophisticated texture that offers the ideal blend of wetness, elasticity, and conformability. Biopolymers are covalently bound monomeric components that are arranged in a polymeric structure to create bigger molecules. Keywords: Wounds, Healing, Biofibers, Biopolymers, Wound dressing.
