REVIEW OF VATA PRAKOPAKA NIDANA IN THE MANIFESTATION OF NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS
*Dr. Vidya and Dr. Arun Kumar M.
. Abstract The concept of Vata Dosha in Ayurveda is closely linked to the nervous system in neurology, governing movement, sensation, and the transmission of nerve impulses. This review explores Vata Prakopaka Nidanas—factors that aggravate Vata Dosha—and their impact on the nervous system. Drawing from classical Ayurvedic texts and contemporary research, the study examines how excessive exercise, depletion of body tissues, trauma, sleep deprivation, suppression of natural urges, excessive cleansing procedures, cold exposure, fear, and other factors disrupt nervous system function. The findings highlight the significant overlap between Ayurvedic Vata disorders and modern neurological conditions. By understanding these etiological factors, practitioners can better diagnose and treat diseases, preventing and managing conditions ranging from neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases to mood disorders and cognitive impairments. This comprehensive review underscores the importance of identifying and mitigating Vata Prakopaka Nidanas to maintain nervous system health and overall well-being. Keywords: Vata, Vata Prakopaka Nidana, Neurological Disorders, Ayurveda. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
