Abstract

Antibiotic resistance has become a global public health concern, posing significant challenges in the treatment of contagious complaints. Understanding the frequency of antibiotic resistance in different regions is pivotal for developing effective strategies to combat this issue. This study aims to assess the frequency of antibiotic resistance in the North Indian population through a methodical review and meta-analysis of being literature. A compressive analysis was conducted exercising peer-reviewed exploration papers, government reports, and surveillance databases. The study gauged a period from January 2010 to December 2022, with a focus on the countries of North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. The analysis revealed a substantial increase in antibiotic resistance rates across colorful bacterial pathogens generally encountered in clinical settings. Gram-negative bacteria, similar to Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Acinetobacter baumannii, displayed alarmingly high resistance rates to multiple classes of antibiotics. also, Gram-positive pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus species, demonstrated concerning resistance patterns, particularly against methicillin and vancomycin. The factors included overuse and abuse of antibiotics, shy infection control practices in healthcare settings, lack of mindfulness among healthcare professionals and the general public and the presence of antibiotic remainders in the terrain.

Keywords: Antibiotic resistance, Contagious complaints, Methodical review, Peerreviewed exploration papers, Surveillance database, Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella).
