Dr. Abhishek Kangoo* (BAMS), Dr. Shipra (BAMS) and Prof. Dr. Sukh Dev (BAMS, MS)
. Abstract In the current century, our reliance on computers has skyrocketed, spanning all age groups. While this technology enhances productivity and connectivity, it also brings about health challenges, particularly for the eyes. Prolonged screen time has given rise to Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), a condition marked by visual strain and ergonomic issues. Despite the benefits of computers, our eyes struggle to adapt to the constant demand for near-focus, leading to discomfort and potential long-term effects. Modern medicine has yet to provide a definitive solution for CVS, prompting a turn towards traditional remedies. Ayurvedic scholars have embraced this challenge, utilizing therapies such as Tarpana, as outlined in Ashtanga Hridaya, Uttar Sthan (13/11). Triphala Ghrita, used in the Tarpana procedure, is a time-honoured Ayurvedic preparation known for its rejuvenating properties. This case report delves into the efficacy of Triphala Ghrita administered through Tarpana in alleviating dry eye symptoms associated with CVS, highlighting its potential as a natural and effective treatment option. Keywords: Computer Vision Syndrome, Eye strain, Kriyakalpa, Triphala ghrita, Tarpana. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
