PHYTOCHEMICAL AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL STUDY OF CLOVES (SYZYGIUM AROMATICUM)

. Abstract India is the greatest creator of helpful herbs and is known as the expert flowerbed of the world. Developing and devloped countries use plant to cure various disease and get relief from physical suffering. Syzygium aromaticum commonly known as cloves. Clove belong to the family Myrtaceae. Cloves has been widely used for several centuries as medicinal plants largely due to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, help protect against cancer, it can also kill bacteria, helpful in liver health etc. It tastes Pungent, odour is slightly aromatic. The results which were obtained showed the presence of various phytochemical viz. Alkaloids, Resins, Phenols, Carbohydrates, Glycosides and Proteins etc. The physicochemical study revealed the purity and quality of the sample for production of drugs.
