Abstract Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline, memory loss, and functional impairment. It is the most common cause of dementia globally, imposing significant burdens on individuals, families, and healthcare systems. This review provides a detailed overview of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, current treatments, and future directions in Alzheimer's disease research and management. Recent advancements in biomarkers, genetic research, and therapeutic strategies are also explored, highlighting the complexity and ongoing challenges in combating this devastating disease.
